Frequently Asked Questions

Is Michael Hill jewellery made from high-quality materials?

At Michael Hill we offer beautiful, timeless, and high-quality jewellery. We are proud to maintain an in-house Australian workshop with a talented team of jewellers, diamond buyers and sorters, gold caster, diamond setters, and quality control professionals. Several pieces from our exclusive Bridal Collections, plus select fashion styles, are crafted entirely in-house or hand-finished within our workshop in Australia. Others are crafted by our trusted suppliers.

Michael Hill is committed to responsibly sourced diamonds and materials

We provide fine jewellery designed to mark special moments, celebrate your loved ones, or elevate your own collection. We are a proud, certified member of the Responsible Jewellery Council, and we are committed to offering only conflict-free natural diamonds in our jewellery. Our range also includes Certified Sustainability Rated laboratory-grown diamonds. Our precious metals include gold in a minimum of 10kt purity, and 925 sterling silver – for quality pieces designed to treasure. What gold does Michael Hill use?

At Michael Hill, we only use genuine, real gold, and never gold filled or gold plated techniques. All our gold jewellery—including yellow, white and rose gold—is crafted in genuine gold alloys of 10kt purity or higher, including 10, 14 and 18kt gold. Once each piece is expertly crafted, it undergoes a strict quality assessment to ensure it meets our high standards and expectations. Only then are our gold pieces shared with the world.
